Life is all about perception. Literally,
The mind is everything. what you feel, whether it be pain, happiness, anger, stress, dissatisfaction; although unpredictable and uncontrollable events may occur from time to time, essentially you yourself are in control of everything you feel and everything you do. Buddha said “the mind is everything. What you think, you become.” You are dissatisfied by choice, you are infuriated by choice. You chose to start your day on a negative note. You chose to care, or not to care. You allowed something to upset and burden your mood. You are the sole controller of, well, yourself.
Life becomes excruciatingly difficult because we allow it to. Even in the worst of situations that are out of our control, we are capable of completely disregarding whatever it is we feel from it. I came to this realization some time ago and I’ll catch myself from time to time letting go. I’ve learned to just let go. Old habits get the best of me some days and I’m not saying there’s a damn thing wrong about feeling, I’m not an emotionless brute (on the contrary), however, I’ve learned to not allow temporary emotions to over bare me. I’ll allow myself my 5, 10 minutes of my innate self to get angry, throw a fit, be upset. After that, I let. Go.
Most often, anger, jealousy and frustration will get you almost NO WHERE.
When you experience these negative emotions you have to realize that you and you alone control that very feeling- you can, from one moment to the next just drop it.
Choose to be happy.
